Lauren Dolinka
Lower School Director
Lauren Dolinka has dedicated her professional career to Jewish education. She is deeply committed to the mission of raising children to be self-aware, thoughtful, responsible community members, and she believes in nurturing these traits through the lens of Jewish values.
Prior to becoming the Lower School Director at Sinai Akiba in 2021, she spent eight years at the San Diego Jewish Academy, where she taught at the elementary, middle, and high school level in both General and Judaic Studies, facilitated professional development for faculty, and coordinated Jewish programming for the school community at-large. Lauren is also closely involved with the DeLeT (Day School Leadership through Teaching) program at Hebrew Union College, where she is an instructor of Math Methods. She has also served as a Clinical Educator and a member of the Alumni Network Steering Committee.
Lauren earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature with a minor in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Upon graduating, she moved to Israel, where she taught English for two years while earning a Master’s Degree in Education from Bar Ilan University. She is an alumni of the DeLeT program, where she earned a certificate in Jewish Day School Education and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Most recently, Lauren participated in the School Leadership Academy at the University of Southern California, where she earned her Preliminary Administrative Services Credential.
Born and raised in the greater Los Angeles area, Lauren is thrilled to be a member of the SAA community, along with her husband, Mike, and their two children.
